Secondary for monk
Ok I just started a Mo/Me a week ago, and I don't know if this is the right seconday profession. I dont want to attack, just heal/protect (depending on the skills my team needs). I also don't need him for farming, as I have a W/Mo with my profected farming build. Could you give me some insight on which secondary is right for just healing/protecting? (or if Mesmer is right)

it depends on what your function is:
pvp: your team will tell you what they want, it is usually a mo/n using offering of blood, a mo/w using victory is mine or a mo/me with energy drain
for pve:
out of personal preference, I like mo/n with offering of blood for energy management, but mo/me with energy drain or tap is good too, its more of a thing you need to find out for yourself-- you can always change 2ndary professions

Mo/Me is fine. Just stick with either Healing or Prot, it's hard to do both. Basically you'll want maxed out Healing/Prot, decent Divine Favor and the rest into Inspiration for energy management.

because of the ability to switch attributes easily, you can choose either one and switch back and forth as you please, from the question, I can safely assume he isnt doing anything tidius that needs perfection, so he probably doesnt need sup healing or sup prot, so it shouldnt be hard to switch.

what i ment by healing/protection is either healing or protection (depending on what my team wants). Also, this monk is for PvE.

ok, just heavy heals is what you need.... heal other, word of healing, heal area, infuse health and other things like that, if your team is good enough to protect you
for prot, just reversal of fortune, mend condition or purge condition, prot spirit, and rebirth should do well.

Thanks for the insight, I'm going to bookmark this page and use it as a referal. I have another question, I was thinking about later changing to Elementalist secondary for earth magic. Maybe ward against melee and some others. Opinions?

Need new builds for Farming, pve, and GvG w/mo20 completed
W/mo20 game complete but
Since nov10th's nerf of this game Im at a loss since i was a sword/smiting war that had a dynomite build useing Balth aura Sybol of Wrath and zeolots
someothers along with sword stuff. I have 60E if i switch off shield and go to Hod sword and Glad and ankh with either Healing or ProtecP at req=9 or 6 less if at req5 for healing prayers with another ankh. I have both tactics and shrenght shields at max16 and +45 with -2 rec in enchantment and stance. Sword combos are max furious or sundering or vamp and pom side is 29 or echantment 20%. Also have axe's like that. My problem is i played so long with the area stuff that now that is over i am lost. I have all elites and all spells, im in good shape with equipment and skills just at a alltime low because of the 11-10 update. I completed Hells P 2 days before. I dont what to be a boob out there while helping guild mates so.
1)So with this in mind whats a good farming build
2)Whats a good mission build
3)and Whats a good GvG build.
For my helpless but strong war/mo20

to horoldo: assuming your joining PUGs (pick up groups), armor of earth servers well for pve. but wards are high energy spells, especially for monks, and is best used for holding a position; where pve is usually always moving in a certain direction. also kinetic armor if you think your always going to be casting. but mainly, the only good monk spell on the earth side is armor of earth and maybe a snare if you like to run

All 3 of those questions can be answered using the Search Button :P
1) In this very board, there's a whole BUNCH of W/Mo farming builds
2) Same as 1)
3) EP (a top 10 guild) posted their build on this board, so people like you can try to emulate their build. But don't just go copy it, and run it, you have to learn what each character does and how they do it. Plus, there's all the tactics and blahblahblah that matter in high ranked GvG.

for gvg, dont use pve chars, making a pvp only char is a much better option because it gives you more options.
for missions, the basic paladin fares well, or maybe strength of honor + judge's insight could do good damage, combined with something to make you attack fast, if you got a monk covering you.
for farming, the paladin again, is a good choice because it can tank well; yet it soley depends on where you are farming for you to decide a build

yes, they can be found with the search button, but many people either dont use it or want a specific answer to their question, i made this thread so they can ask specific questions, while i have another hour or two to wait till the servers go back up on my other game im playing; so please just let it be.
